Dungeon of Zaar Makes the Switch

With the Nintendo Switch being released in the coming months, fans are searching for any relevant news about the mysterious new console. We were already shown the new hardware capabilities and different ways to play in the reveal trailer. With the exceptions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the new Mario game, however, we have yet to hear any news of a new game. Until the trailer for Dungeon of Zaar released, that is.

Dungeon of Zaar is an online turn-based strategy game created by Kurb Studios. You take control of an explorer in a magical world, with the goal of finding the throne of the powerful wizard, Zaar. Leading a team of mercenaries, you must battle your way through the dungeon in search of the throne. You will go head-to-head against players in a PvP format or battle against your friends in local mode.

Right off the bat, Dungeon of Zaar shows a lot of potential. Taking notes from strategy games like Final Fantasy Tactics and Advance Wars, the game features a unique turn-based battle system, in which you control 5 mercenaries while having to come up with strategies within a 90 second time limit. This allows for faster decision making and shorter games. Aside
from this are the stunning visuals. Using vibrant colors, great character designs, and beautiful landscapes, the game offers a unique art style that sets it apart from the competition.

Dungeon of Zaar is still in the early stages of development. Having just conquered a successful Kickstarter, more about the game should be available soon. It is not yet available for Steam Early Access but, there is a playable demo of the pre-alpha available for Windows and Mac. Dungeon of Zaar is slated to release on PC, Mac, Linux and Nintendo Switch.
